Yves Saint Laurent, creator and couturier.
Saint Laurent was born in 1936 in Algeria and when he was 17 years old, he went to Paris. There, Yves Saint Laurent worked for Christian Dior and he was made the creative chief designer of Maison Dior after Dior’s death in 1957.
It was in 1962 that Yves Saint Laurent opened his own brand with Pierre Bergé. He created the prêt-à-porter collections untill 1998 and his last haute couture collection was in 2002.
Yves Saint Laurent died in 2008 at the age of 71 years old.
